Bodies in Repose
soft sculptures, mixed media, performance2014-2016The feminized body has been represented throughout art history as an object of admiration. Usually in repose, these women are presented for the painter and the viewers’ own pleasures. “Bodies in Repose”, in contrast, looks to represent the stress applied to the femme bodies: hung, dismantled, stretched, judged for any lumps, sags, or imperfections.
